Re: installation woes on the Apple Macintosh: How about the platform provider gets its act together, does its job, stop sucking and provides a well-documented and -thought-out API/whatever that any and all app developer would want to adopt and thus users would greatly benefit from being able to transfer knowledge acquired in Context A while interacting with Application X, to Context B while interacting with Application Y and Bob’s your metaphoric uncle and we wouldn’t have to spend time dealing with this hand wringing, much less with support requests from poor users of Application Z which, as it happens, chose to follow some other arbitrary installation logic and procedure?
